Personal Pronoun

Pronoun disebut juga Kata Ganti dalam Bahasa Indonesia.

Pronoun biasanya digunakan untuk menyebut kembali sebuah kata benda (noun) untuk menghindari pengulangan kata yang sama dalam sebuah kalimat.

Dalam pembahasan kali ini, saya hanya ingin membahas tentang Personal Pronoun atau kata ganti orang saja sebagai permulaan.

Dalam English Grammar ada empat Personal Pronoun yang sering digunakan :

1. Subjective Pronoun
    "I, You, She, He, It, We, They" dikenal dengan subject pronoun karena berfungsi sebagai subjek dalam kalimat.
          Contoh :
           - I just love the way you are.
           - We will let everything flows.
           - You will never see me anymore.

2. Objective Pronoun
    "Me, You, Her, Him, It, Us, Them" dikenal dengan object pronoun karena berfungsi sebagai objek dalam kalimat.
         Contoh :
           - Don't leave me alone.
           - Look, that girl calls us.
           - Please tell him to come back.

3. Possesive Pronoun
    " Mine, Yours, Hers, His, Its, Ours, Theirs" disebut possesive pronoun karena berfungsi menunjukkan kepunyaan.
         Contoh :
               - Don't take that book, that is mine.
               - The cat hide the fish as it knows I am going to take its. (kepunyaannya / ikannya)
               - My eyes stare at hers.
 
   Selain itu possessive pronoun (My....,Your.....,Her....,His....,Its....,Our....,Their....)
   juga digunakan pada kata-kata yang langsung diikuti oleh benda yang dipunyainya.
        Contoh :
               - Don't steal my heart. I won't steal yours.
               - The mouse hid its tail from the cat. (Its tanpa (') apostrophe )
               - It was a terrible moment when I saw him revealed his love to Maryam.

4. Reflexive Pronoun
    Yang termasuk Reflexive personal pronouns adalah myself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves, yourselves, and themselves. Mereka digunakan untuk menyebut kembali subjek yang telah dipakai sebelumnya.
Atau sering juga untuk menunjukkan sesuatu yang dilakukan oleh seseorang terhadap diri sendiri.
    Contoh :
             - I hurt myself when I fall in love.
             - Sometimes, the children have to take care of themselves.
             - He looks at himself at the mirror.
